Auxilium ACHS

Auxilium Convent High School is conducted by the daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA) commonly known as the Salesian Sisters of Don Bosco. This Worldwide Institution spread in all five continents, was founded in 1872 in Italy by St. John Bosco and St. Mary Mazzarello, it is run according to the principles of our saintly founders.

The school is a minority Institution intended primarily to promote the educational interests of Catholics, if accommodation is available, members of the other communities also may be admitted at the absolute discretion of the Management. The Governing Body of the Bombay Society of the Salesian Sisters, India is entitled to manage the affairs of the Society with all the rights and powers under the Societies Registration Act and also as referred in the Memorandum of Association. The school is an English Medium School. The course of instruction comprises all the branches of Education prescribed by the Government code and prepares pupils for the S.S.C. Examination. The school is affiliated to the Maharashtra State Board of Education.

FMA POLICY

FMA CHILD PROTECTION POLICY

It is the FMA's commitment to protect children from abuse, exploitation organizational negligence and intentional and unintentional harm by setting professional and ethical standards and preparing policies, Guidelines, systems, mechanisms and procedures to realize them.

 

Child protection consists of the responsibilities, measures and activities that are undertaken to safeguard children from both intentional and unintentional harm, particularly arising from child exploitation and abuse.

 

The Guiding Principles of the Policy:

 

1). The legal basis: The FMA Child Protection is firmly based on the principles of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child  (UNCRC).

The CRC provides a comprehensive framework for the provision of protection and participation of all children without discrimination  to ensure their survival and development to the maximum extent possible.

2). Moral basis: The FMA believes that the Institutions working for Children's Rights have the absolute duty to protect them from abuse, maltreatment and exploitation within the organization intended for their benefit. This duty is imperative and non-negotiable.

3). There shall be Zero Tolerance regarding the abuse of and violence against children.

4). The best interests of the child are paramount and shall be the primary consideration in our planning and decision.

5). A Child-centred and Child rights-based approach will be pursued in order to keep children sharply in focus in our planning and direct work.

6). Non-discrimination and equal     participation shall be ensured so that   all the children may have the opportunity to enjoy all the activities safely, regardless of their gender, race, caste, creed, culture, ethnicity. circumstances or age as per their ability.

7). Confidentiality will be maintained to protect sensitive personal data information will only be shared on a need to know basis, by the legitimate individuals only, for the conduct of their official duties.

8). Shared Responsibility will be by the stake holders for the protection minors.

9) The help and Intervention of Law enforcement agencies and specialist child welfare organizations will be continually sought.

 

The Objectives of the Policy

 

1) To create a child friendly environment within the Institution.

2) To ensure appropriate operational mechanism in our centre.

​

3) To promote the rights to life, protection, participation and development of children.

​

4) To protect and safeguard the children from all forms of abuses and to reduce the risk of harm.

​

5) To provide guidance on how to respond concretely to the allegations of child abuse and negligence.

 

6) To closely work with the Government and NGOs to create child safety nets.

 

7) To see Standard Operating Procedures, situate mechanisms in place and to ensure credibility for the Institution. (Reference: FMA - INDIA child Protection Policy - 2015)

 

Child Protection Officer (CPO) is designated by the Management to receive all complaints in any form - oral or written to carry out preliminary enquiry and to look into the matter.

 

A CPO will be appointed and a complaint box has been installed in the school. The CPO will open the complaint box every Wednesday.
